President's Volunteer Service Award Information
Co-op Parents,
Do you and your children enjoy helping others by volunteering in community projects? If so, are you aware that you may qualify for a special award from the President of the United States? In 2002, President Bush challenged all Americans to service.
You can read all about it at www.presidentialserviceawards.gov.
Creekside Academy is a certifying organization and you can obtain a Presidential Service Award through us. Simply log your dates and hours of service with each organization where you serve. Then have a supervisor sign your log to verify your hours. Log your hours from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. Submit your hours to Creekside Academy Learning Co-op by March 31, 2022, in order to receive your award by the end of the school year.
If you have any questions about what qualifies as volunteer time, please feel free to ask. Sometimes things we wouldn't think of can be very important. Participating in a play or helping during VBS at church are a couple of examples. A Presidential Service Award also looks very good on college entrance applications for high school students, so, get those recording forms ready and start tracking your hours.
